Enid Lucy Pease Robinson
« on: Friday 03 April 09 17:36 BST (UK) »
Hi All

I'm desperately trying to find a photograph of this lady, born in 1881. Her mother was Lucy Ann Pease (of the Pease family in Darlington", her father was Robert Robinson, Civil Engineer, and they lived at Beechwood, Grange Road, Darlington.

Enid married Dr Charles Stanley Steavenson in 1911, and they lived at Felix House, Middleton St George.

Can anyone help?

Regards

Lynn

Hello Lynn,

I would suggest your best bet would be to contact Darlington Library which was founded by Edward Pease
http://www.darlington.gov.uk/Education/Library/Library%20Service.htm

Katherine Williamson of the Centre for Local Studies can be contacted by email, and I'm sure she will be able to help. Please keep us informed, especially if you don't find an answer.

Regards,
Colin

Hi Colin

Thanks for your response and suggestion. Strangely enough, I contacted Katherine at the library earlier this week, who was extremely helpful, but unfortunately she's been unable to find any photographs of Enid.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for further responses.
Best regards

Might the local newspaper of that time have a photo?
You'd need to find out where it is archived...
just a thought.

There could be a problem here.

Enid was born in Darlington but her marriage was recorded in the Scarborough District, so it would depend on how important that marriage was, if it was reported in the Darlington papers. If you have a date I will check to see if it made the papers.

regards,
Colin

Thank you JR, Carlotte and Colin for your kind replies, I appreciate your time and effort.

Colin I now have a marriage certificate, with a date of October 17th 1911. I will take you up on your kind offer if you're still willing to check the newspaper?

I greatly appreciate all help given.

Regards

Lynn

Hi Lynn,

I caught your message just before I went to the library so I checked the Northern Echo and the North Star but found nothing. It's not surprising really, because I had noted the date as 17th Nov :-[ :-[ :-[

I'll have another look but there were very few photos in them.

Regards,
Colin
