Hi Merilyn. I am a descendant of Edward and I believe that I have a copy of his court documents which were acquired by my brother during a trip to somerset. Bit busy at the moment but may be able to dig them out

Hi, I would be very interested in your information on Edward about the trials as they may contain information about his brothers and sisters. My OH descends from his younger brother James. I have quite a few copies of the other siblings trials as well as their father Levi and am more than happy to share them with you. Kind Regards, Veanne

On a recent visit to Perth, WA my wife and I visited Fremantle prison and I was intrigued to discover an Edward Treasure had been transported there from  the Somerset area. My mother's family name is Treasure and her family were from that area. Her first name was Violet.  Her brothers were Charlie (dec'd) Frank (now in his late 80s) and her sister Sabina, (known as Vena) there were other siblings whose names I don't know. Their father's name was Charles.
I would love to know a little more of the family history

Mike

Hi Mike,

There is a possible connection with you and the convict Edward to WA. His father was Levi TREASURE - Levi's father was James TREASURE. This James TREASURE bap. 23 Feb 1731 was possibly the brother to John TREASURE bap. 19 Jul 1730 Stoke Lane. This John TREASURE is your 5g-grandfather.
ie, John, James, Jeremiah Lewis, Aeneas, Charles Henry, Violet Doris, Mike.

I say possible connection only because the evidence for the baptism of James is from the IGI and not from the Stoke Lane Parish Registers. The Stoke Lane Parish Registers are in very poor condition and unreadable in some cases so it may very well be there, just not able to be seen at this point in time.

If you have specific questions (as I don't know how much you already know) just ask, I am always happy to help a fellow treasure hunter. Do you have the book "The Treasures" compiled by Anne Williams?

kind regards, Veanne

PS. I have been putting some information on a website called Family Treasure Circles where it can be accessed free by anyone. At this stage it relates only to Levi TREASURE and his children and I still have more information to add - I just have to find the time to do it!

Hi Veanne
Thanks for the information which has got me very interested in my ancestry. Just as a matter of interest, when we were in Australia, we also saw at the war memorial in Perth (Kings Park)
the name of  a W. Treasure who died in action WW1  and a J. Treasure who died in action in WW2. Both from Western Australia.
Have you any idea if they were descended from Edward and from each other? A big ask I know.

Yes I have got "The Treasures" by Anne Williams and am slowly working my way through it. My sister Eileen knows a lot more than me and I will e-mail her in Canada giving her this web site and the one you are compiling. I couldn't find Edward in the book and that's why I wrote a post.

Keep plugging away at your web site for all us Treasures please

Regards

Mike

Hi again Mike,

Wyndham TREASURE descends from my Levi's brother Edward who married Ann PERKINS.  Wyndham was born in New Zealand and moved to Western Australia.

John TREASURE descends from my Levi's son Edward who married Anna Maria NORRISH. He was born in Western Australia.

So yes there is a relationship there.

kind regards, Veanne
