Hi,

Try the local Record Office; if the papers have not survived then there might have been in report in a local newspaper.  Again the Record Office should be able to advise you on that.

Good luck!

Hi Solva,

There a number of links on Google for Bristol Family History.

It would be worth contacting one for help and advice.

I have one to check in Herts. and some records and/or newspapers  may have something for me. However if a search is involved the prices vary, usually on an hourly basis

I was looking for similar information in Doncaster where the Coroner's reports have not survived.  Fortunately both dates of the 2-part hearing were given on the death cert. so I got in touch with Doncaster library who provided photocopies of both hearings from both local newspapers together with an invoice for a couple of pounds copying charges.  Very trusting and very reasonable.

Try the local library.

Christine

Hello Ann,

One record office I contacted was happy to look up newspaper articles and sent them to me free of charge, so you never know you might be in luck!  ;)

Hi, I've had the same experience as Rachel, so worth a try ;D

If you have the date of death it will make them more likely to search as it will be easier.

Thanks Charlotte, I know Bristol Record Office is in the process on setting up a new museum and are very busy, but I'll give it a try. I have her death certicate so know the dates etc.
Best regards

Hi Ann,
try writing ( e-mail) to the Bristol library. Give them the exact date of the the inquest etc( which should be on the death cert), and the name, cause of death, plus the name of the coroner etc, basically all of the details you have on the death cert.

My gg grandfather had an inquest into his death, the Bristol Librarian found the newspaper report of the coroners inquest for me, and sent it out to me here in Australia by post .She really was most helpful.

Bristol Library really is a joy compared to some places-  very quick response to emails, queries, and very, very helpful.

Kind regards :)
