Hi Erato,

I'd say it's a fairly safe bet that we've got the same family, the "Jenkinson" is too much of a coincidence.  We will have to try to find if there were any other children, maybe through the Census records.  Isn't it great when a little bit of the puzzle falls into place?

I see that you are in Australia.  I am in Ecuador.  This makes digging into early Irish records tough.

I know nothing about Mary Pepper except what became of her and her family in the US.  From that point on, I have quite a lot of information.
Wiltshire:  Banks, Taylor
Somerset:  Duddridge, Richards, Barnard, Pillinger
Gloucestershire:  Barnard, Marsh, Crossman
Bristol:  Banks, Duddridge, Barnard
Down:  Ennis, McGee
Wicklow:  Chapman, Pepper
Wigtownshire:  Logan, Conning
Wisconsin:  Ennis, Chapman, Logan, Ware

Looking at headstones in Church of Ireland records, Wicklow Town I came across the following, hope it will fit in somewhere in your records:

"Erected by / John Pepper / in memory of his / affectionate wives / Mary who died the 21st of August 1855 aged 38 years / Elizabeth who died the 21st January 1878 aged 44 years."

Also one of my ancestors called John Malone (1872 - 1948) married circa 1902 to Ellen (Helena) Pepper, who was born Dublin (according to the census of 1901 & 1911) and died November 1966 in Wicklow Town. They had 9 known children all now deceased.

Census 1911 = 16 Colley St 65/19
Ellen states she was "married 9 yr. 5 children born & 5 living"

"Ellen Malone, aged 92 yrs R.C. Housewife, widow Glenside Road, (Colley Rd), died 29th November 1966.
