Brenchley of Rochester
« on: Tuesday 31 March 09 15:05 BST (UK) »
Anyone have any Brenchley's around the Rochester area?  I have a Sarah Brenchley born 1809 in Rochester, according to the IGI she was born to George and Mary Brenchley.  The census records confirm she was from Rochester, however I can find no records for her parents being from or married from there so possibly came from elsewhere in Kent, as there seems to be a fair few from the Kent area.  Any help will be appreciated, Regards, Elrowe

Hi Elrowe

Having a quick look at the IGI, it would appear that Sarah has possible siblings also baptised Rochester St Nicholas ie.

Sarah 2 Apr 1809
Frances 16 Jun 1811
Mary 25 Dec 1813

Mary's baptism gives her father, George, as a labourer so not much help there

Have you looked at the online parish registers on Medway Cityark http://cityark.medway.gov.uk/ for any other possible children baptised to this couple ???

Also, do you have marriages for the three sisters to see whether there are any clues to other siblings there ???

Thanks Casalguidi, yes I have all that info already, however I am no further than that and would like to findsomething on George and his wife, I searched the cityarc files a year or so ago and found nothing much to help me move forward unfortunately.
