I am researching the family tree of Edward Dale Turner who was the son of Helen Donald who was married to Harry Battye Fisher Turner, and I have just come across your posts on the subject of Harry Battye Fisher Turner.  Edward was conceived after Harry Battye Fisher Turner had left the scene and his father was in fact a William Dale.  However he was given the family name Turner and did not find out who his father really was until he was young man.

As a youth Edward had been told that Harry Battye Fisher Turner returned to Aberdeen with Helen Donald and  that he had been a violinist in the Majestic Cinema in Aberdeen.

Although not directly in Edward's line of descent I would be very interested to know what the outcome of your research into Harry Battye Fisher Turner was, since Edward grew up as part of his family and was given his surname it forms part of his family history.  Can you let me know what you have learned please.

Would I be correct in my understanding that you are probably a descendant of Barbara Fisher Turner and Harry Symonds, possibly their great grand-daughter ?

Hello, My wife is Katie Symonds and she is researching Harry Battye Fisher.
Eddie Turner is my grandmothers brother, my great uncle. Barbara and Harry are my grandparents.  I know Eddie but have not seen him for many years now. Last I heard he was in England. His first wife Marion was in Aberdeen last I heard.
Harry Battye was last seen in Inverurie around the 1920's and no trace has been found since.  he walked out on his wife (Helen Donald) and children and has not been seen or heard of since.  I think it as a wind instrument he played, but perhaps he played violin too.  We have a fairly good line back from Eddies mum that we would be happy to share with you.  I am sure that the family tree is public in Ancestry .com.  Let me know if there is anything I can help with.

Kind regards

Gordon
PS Please give my regards to Eddie if you are in touch with him.

Thanks for the reply.

I have picked up what is available on other websites.

Eddie now lives in Selkirk and Marion is still in Aberdeen.  Their daughter Jennifer is married to Matt Parton and works in London and has a son Alexander born 25.09.2003, their middle son died in 2001 and their youngest son Michael will marry in Melbourne in August this year.  Eddie sends his regards.
