Thanks Ann

I have already got the census records, birth ,death and marriage certs for the family up to David from Scotlands people.  However am unable to go beyond the birth of his two children Daisy McVicar Kennedy and David Angus Kennedy born early 1920's.  I do know that there are descendants still living in Greenock who may be able to help me further but so far I have not been able to trace anyone past 1920's.

Thanks for replying.

Linda

Hello Linda and Ann,

I hope you still watch this board.

I'm a descendant of David Kennedy (b.~1834) and Ann Keith as well, via their son David (b.1862), brother of Angus (b.1869), who moved to Befast in the ~1880's.  David (b.1862) was my Great-Grandfather.  As for descendant still in Greenock, in the 1980's I was in contact with descendants of another brother Donald (b.1871).

I you have anything to share, please do!

John in NC.

Hi John
I have just been clearing out my emails and found an email from Roots chat, so followed the links.  i have not done any Family History since 2009 when the last census came out!
Since my post about the Kennedy family I have made many discoveries regarding my Father's mother, Daisy Angus and her new family when she married David Kennedy in 1924.  Give me some time to look through my folders and get my head around where we cross over, and hopefully we may be able to update each other.  I too have found living relatives in Greenock and went there to find my grandmothers grave and visit the Watt Library where the records are held.
Regards
Linda

Hello Linda,

Great to hear from you.

If it helps, I believe that we are 3rd cousins, sharing David Kennedy and Ann Keith as GG-Grandparents.  To the best of my knowledge, their children were:

John (1858-1927)
William (1860-1897)
David (1862-1933) --> My Great-Grandfather
Duncan (1864-1865)
Mary (1866-1931)
Angus (1869-1956) --> Your Great-Grandfather
Donald (1871-1952)
Duncan (1872-1873)
Catherine (1874-1875)

Regards,

John
