help with munro and campbell

   can any one help with hector Munro born about 1819 in kiltearn and Ann campbell born about 1815 in gairloch
tried to find marriage for them on Scotland's people but can't find one have them on a 1851 census in kiltearn

Just a thought for you - I've come across Campbells from the Gairloch area being recorded as MacIver (or even as "Campbell or MacIver") - I understand the reason for this was to distinguish themselves from other branches of the Campbell clan. If you're having trouble finding Ann could she be recorded under the MacIver surname in some records?

It looks likely that there are no Old Parish Register entries (pre 1855) for their marriage, also for births/christenings of their children. There is a submitted entry for an 1855 birth on IGI:

MARY ANN MUNRO  Birth on 16 FEB 1855 Blackhill Croft By Fowlis, Kiltearn, Ross And Cromarty

There are two births in Kiltearn in 1855 for a Mary Ann Munro. If one of them does turn out to be correct with Hector and Ann as parents, the certificate will give you the date of the parents' marriage, where parents were from, ages, and how many children they'd had (alive/deceased, boys/girls). Might be worthwhile checking out...

IGI stands for the International Genealogical Index on www.familysearch.org  Free to use and search  You will find actual extract from the Old Parish Registers (OPRs) pre 1855 and also Statutory Records post 1855. Very good for Scotland in the period of 1855 up to 1874/5. Members of the LDS also submit records from their own trees, it was these entries I found for the family.
