I would appreciate an opinion on the date of the attached photos. Both are on glass negatives. One glass neg is 6 1/2 x 8 1/2, the other is in a wooden frame 4 3/4 x 5 3/4 the actual neg is 3 1/4 x 4 1/4.
I think the frame is not a display frame - it is 3/4" thick, the back (which covers the neg) is hinged in the middle and held in by two 1/2" wide steel straps, there is a tapered grove down the back 1 1/2" wide. I think this "frame would have fit into some other apparatus.
Both of the neg are related to S-O-T England, they in my Fathers possession (could have been his fathers?) who was born in Tunstall 1901.
