Luke Guest, Liverpool 1875
« on: Sunday 29 March 09 20:51 BST (UK) »
Hi

I need some help with finding the birth index for Luke Guest.

I always thought he was born in 1875 in Liverpool but so far been unable to find him.

He died 1916 age 41 yrs. I have him and family 1911 Census at 13 Ritson St age 36, born in Runcorn.

I have checked findmypast.com two years either side of 1875 and cant find him.
I really need would like his birth certificate.

Can anybody help,

Cheers

Hi Trueblue

Can't find his birth on Ancestry either  :( Could Luke be his middle name? I have him and his family on the 1901 census where he is also down as being born in Runcorn. He married Elizabeth in Toxteth Park in Jun 1897.

The closest I can get is a Luke Guest registered in Altrincham in Dec 1865, on the 1871 his birth place is down as Lymm. the only Lukes born in Lancs were born in 1897 and 1902, both Toxeth Park.

Hope that helps somehow  ???

Thanks Rosie, just as a matter of interest, the Luke born in Lymm  1865 who are his parents on the 1871 census?

The two Lukes born 1897 and 1902 Toxeth Park were my Lukes sons, first one died year after birth.

Hi Garstonite

That's a great website find for Trueblue to look at.  We still cannot find Luke Guest born around 1875 though (the one I think could be Luke Massey)

I cannot find Ellen Massey on a census with a husband so don't know whether she was really married or not

Carole

I think I have found Ellen Massey living with husband Samuel in Runcorn 1861 but she lied about her age. I also think Luke Guest is really Luke Massey b Runcorn 1875, taking on the name Guest after his mother married William Guest between 1881 - 1891. On 1891 census William and Ellen are married and living Livepool, Ellens children the Masseys are living with Williams mother  Alice Guest in Lymm.

Garstonite, the web site is a great gind thanks a lot.
