Does anyone know of the Harper family County Antrim, Sarah Harper married Robert Kirk about 1860, also from County Antrim, thet moved to England soon after the they were married, they lived in Cockermouth

Do you know their religion? Civil registration of Catholic marriages began in 1864 but other marriages from 1845. A marriage certificate will list their fathers' names and occupations as well as their residences at the time of the marriage.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Hi,
    10 Feb 1860 Robert Kirk married Sarah Harper in Muckamore Presbyterian Church in the Parish of Grange of Muckamore, Antrim, Co. Antrim.

Since that seems to be the couples marriage you can now check index to civil registrations under each name and cross reference details (date, registration district, volume and page number) which will get you the information needed to order the marriage certificate.

Thank you for the info, I will follow it up. They were protestants, Robert Kirk, was supposedly a Romany gypsy, so my great aunt told me , that is why they came to England she was disowned by her family, she had been educated and he could neither read or write. I am very interested to see who and what their parent were.

Marriage certificate should list their fathers' names and occupations but mothers will not be listed.
