Honestly, I'm not sure. What was passed on the Ashby side was Thomas Williams born Feb.1833 England.I did find someone who said that Thomas & Hannah's first daughter Mary Hannah Williams born 1860 was  born in St. Marylebone, London, England, but in  family reunions & census records  it was always said Mary Hannah Williams was born in Wisconsin  about 1 1/2 years or 2 years after they were married. So I'm not sure. Do know the Hannah Ashby was baptized  from St. Deny's Church in Rotherfield, Sussex, England.

I found the birth registration for Hannah Ashby for 1842 for the Uckfield district on Ancesrty which I think covers Rotherfield. If this is the right lady and she married in 1858 she would only have been 16 years old. I would have thought she would have needed her parents consent for the marriage. Perhaps this would have been noted on the marriage certificate. Poppyann

That would be her & yes she was supposed to be young when they married. Her & Thomas had 10 children. I haven't found a marriage certificate yet it was supposed to be in a church called Wellafield or Welafield church in Wisconsin, but have not found a church with that name. Some have told me it is probably Delafield Church in Wisconsin but haven't found anything. The story for her was passed on at reunions she had 10 siblings when she came to America with her mother.I thinks when the ship was thought to be lost at sea, Hannah & her brother William Ashby had to go into New york to work I think it was 6 months. So I don't know if she met her husband in England or New York, or Wisconsin. Supposedly Charles Ashby had a brother he was going to stay with in Wisconsin & they were going to meet him.

Almost forgot Thomas Williams  born Feb.1833 I believe his middle name is Jefferson because Thomas & Hannah {Ashby} Williams first born son was named Thomas Jefferson Williams this son was born in 1862 I believe in Ohio.I do have information on the family & this Ashby side just not on my Williams side.
