Trying to find more information on my grandad Ernest Norman Stewart.  He was born on the 19th November 1912 at 65 Dempster Street. He had brothers and sisters, one of who went by the name of Dot, but this was her stage name.

Hi,
I have a relative who lived at 75 Dempster Street, his name was Hughes. Notice you are also doing that name search.
Will ask him if he remembers anything.

My Hughes line is JOhn Hughes married to Mary Irving and James Hughes married to Ann Rome.
both Dumfries moving into Greenock in the early 1880's.

wonder if you are linked?

hi

The brothers of my grandad were in order of age were called Willie, Eric and Johnny, my grandad Ernest was the youngest. He also had an older sister called Mary (nicknamed Dot) who was the first born. Eric lived on dempsey street also later on but i don't know of the number, he was married to Peggy. I don't think there is a connection on our Hughes line as they came from Johnston. Thanks for the reply.

Hi this is my great grandfather on my father's side.
He moved to the Lancashire area around 1948/49 as that's when my great grandmother divorced him and he remarried in Oct 1949.

He had two children, Norman Andrew ( my grandfather) and Jeanette (we don't know much about- married name may be murdie).
