Not an answer to your question I'm afraid ... but a couple of snippets for background .....

Banastre Street used to run Eastwards from a junction with Vauxhall Road. On modern day maps it is now called Leeds Street.
Back in the 19th century, Leeds Street ran to the West from Vauxhall Road, towards Princes Dock, while Banastre ran to the East. It looks as though it was decided to extend Leeds Street, and lose the name Banastre altogether
Banastre Street
Named after General Sir Banastre Tarleton MP, who fought in the American war of independence. Tarleton defended the slave trade in Parliament
