Attachment.

But how do I display it inline, below this line

but above this one?

OK, if I let the attachment display, and then cut and paste the URL as an IMG that works.

So how do I suppress the attachment from displaying at the bottom

Ahah - unattach doesn't delete the image, so the link still works, but DOES stop it being displayed.

Bingo - perfect result.

But is it REALLY meant to be this tricky?

Why do I get this error when trying to post a topic with an attached image file:

An Error Has Occurred!
Sorry! There is already an attachment with the same filename as the one you tried to upload. Please rename the file and try again.

This error is confusing, as the distinction between posting and uploading is not clear.  Renaming the file doesn't help either.  It's a .jpg file 34k in size.  Is the error message trying to imply that attachments have to be named uniquely from all other attachments ever posted?

Correct Dale, if you upload a photograph called "janebrown.jpeg" and there is another photograph already uploaded by another member called Janebrown.jpeg you will get the error message. Don't preview your posting as this also can cause a problem as RootsChat thinks it is two images, if you make a mistake this can be edited.

Regards

Sarah :)
