Hi Barbara,

It could be they way they are scanned. It happened when they scanned the workhouse records too, I had quite a conversation with Ancestry tech dept last time and they finally acknowledged something was wrong and put it right.

I suggest emailing Ancestry to let them know there is a problem, try to be as concise as possible so that the person receiving your complaint is able to understand the problem otherwise you will get the stock answer and nothing happens.
added: don't forget to give them an example with the ref so they can double check exactly what you are looking at.

HI

Yes I looked and you're right the RHS is missing half

It was amarriage I knew about

I must admit to being surprised when I looked at the baptisms - which are as yet unindexed, that Staines (where I live) and Laleham are included - I  can follow up my wife's ancestors, I had no idea that marriages this far out are being included (to find this look under Surrey, where they are now, though of course this was middlesex)

Staines and Laleham included  ;D It just gets better.

I haven't had time to look yet, supposed to be busy doing house stuff, but keeping an eye on the board while making coffee ;)

Wooohooo!!!!!!!

Stephen Child married Mary Dimsdale 7 November 1790 St James Clerkenwell!

We have (honestly!) been searching the best part of 15 years to find out where they married. The very last piece of the jigsaw that fully documents  my husband's line back to 1600.

I think this calls for a celebration - We'll have to crack open a bottle of something tonight  ;D

Heh Heh! Loads of Questeds, some I have not already got!

However, some silly indexing; for the marriages they sometimes but not always put the estimated birth year the same as the event date, when it says Full Age..  Confused me at first when looking down the list

I've just found a marriage entry that might be a clue to my "brickwall" but typically it is on the half of the page that hasn't been scanned properly.   In fact, the scan is right at the bottom of the page and the other half of the scanned item isn't scanned properly either.  They must have had lots of complaints about this type of thing, because on the left hand side of the page there is an option to "Report Image Problem", but it has a yellow triangle by it and doesn't work. ::)

I will report the problem with the reference of the example I was looking at.  Meanwhile, I do at least have the names of the couple who married and their fathers.

Lizzie

must admit this will save me many £££'s as i had a page of certificates to check out and maybe buy,
and already confirmed that 3 are the ones that i want, and looking at the scans i doubt if i need to buy the originals
as they give the same info, so good stuff :)

Oh dear  :(

It does look as if it's very hit or miss. Most marriage images from the right hand page of the register seem to be cut off half way across and I've found another couple which have been cut off half way horizontally.

It looks to me as if they haven't been photographed properly  >:(
