Hi Tazzie

More info here

http://landing.ancestry.co.uk/intl/uk/sub_faq.aspx?o_xid=26445&o_lid=26445

To view anything pre1837 which the LMA stuff is, you need premium.

Have you considered using Library Edition?

 Hi Dawn

Thanks for that so premium it looks like then. Have used the library in Milton Keynes before but parking can be a real pain!

As`for banns my 3x great grandma Jane Seabrook nee Lambourne had banns called for a marriage to William Waters the last being 5 oct 1834 the entry finishes with NOT married. He however left her holding the baby.

The interesting thing is that I saw Banns of my gt grandather's Banns were there for his second marriage for Staines, but he wasn't married there but in Brentford district

However it was enough to find I had his wife's name wrong

OOOOh.  155 QUESTED Baptisms.  I had "my" family, but plenty more to play with.

NB there are many duplicates - some of the blotchy pages seem to have been scanned twice at different settings.

I found one where 2 lots of banns were read 4 years apart same parish in 1879 and 1883, they were shown as married 1881 census and their marriage is dated 1883.
One oddity is the male's 1st christian name was Edward 1879 and Edwin 1883, same middle name each time.

On a different note here I was thinking no need to buy these Greater London marriages from the GRO anymore and then I find a 1839 marriage that is half destroyed.

There's also a few marriages I haven't located on Ancestry.

Tell us the initials you don't understand and someone will explain

The last one I saw was LMA = London Metropolitan Archives
They hold a wide range of records, NOT city of London  (at Guildhall Library), also NOT Westminster (at Westminster Archives), but a lot of Middlesex and South of the river, even Wills and Marriage licences for rural surrey
