Can I just say, that Valda has sent me a long and detailed pm (i.e. not 3 lines !) on the two Samuel Shrimptons that had merged into one on my initial understanding.

This has helped greatly.

  wow thank you valda i would never have picked up on them ,as they were born and died between census returns what a tragic turn of events they had , the johnson sisters didnt seem to have much luck with children elizabeth ,the other auntie who raised my g,granddad never had children another sister cathrine never married  and my g,g grandmother mary ann married had my g,grand dad then disappered thank you very much for the information valda

I have a Benjamin Jonas Shrimpton (1851-1924)m.15 Dec 1878 to Sarah Ann Peters(1855-1917) who is an ancestor of present-day members of my family.Benjamin's parents were David Shrimpton(1817-1888) m.1840 to Elizabeth Markham (1818-1905).They had 10 or 11 children as follows from 1879 to 1891
Adelaide/Ada,William,William,Sarah,Minnie,William,Herbert,William,David Darvel and Owen plus Walter John

The line Shrimpo and alanure area interested in were non-conformist (Baptists) by the 1840s. Benjamin Jonas Shrimpton had left Long Crendon by 1871 and moved to the London area.
