Going to Oz.

Trying  to  establish  when  a  Thomas  Crawford  born,  22-11-1803,  Greenock,  Scotland,  went  to  Oz.  His  first  Child,  Thomas,  was  born  on  the  11-2-1833,  Wiseman's  Ferry,  New  South  Wales.  Thomas  Snr.,  died  in  1875,  Wollombi,  and,  his  son,  Thomas,  died  1857,  Maitland.  No  exact  dates  for  either  death.

Any  help  would  be  appreciated  very  much.

The certificates can then be ordered online via the site.

A death certificate for Thomas Snr should contain information about his parents, and how long he had been out in the colonies.  A marriage certificate (actually more likely a church register entry) might tell you which ship he arrived on - some of the ones from my family have this info.  It's hit and miss, though.

You can check the immigration indexes at http://www.records.nsw.gov.au/state-archives/indexes-online/indexes-online; there are also indexes to the Bounty Immigration Scheme (1828 -->) on some subscription sites which people could look up for you.

P.S.  I noticed from the NSW BDM site that Thomas married Mary WISEMAN, daughter of Solomon WISEMAN for whom Wiseman's Ferry is named.  There is plenty of information about Solomon online, and you may find out more about Thomas with a bit of searching!

P.P.S.  I've now found Thomas arrived in 1825 on the "Triton" as a free settler:

Thanks  Pru  for  all  that  data.  Thomas  did  marry  Mary  Wiseman.  He  was  born  in  Greenock,  Renfrewshire,  Scotland.  and,  I  had  a  feeling  he  went  either  to  Oz  or  the  States.
