It's always sad when something like this happens. We've been involved in supporting a similar project in another town and usually popped into the Whitby centre when we went there for the day.
The problem, though, is often that not enough people are sufficiently interested to keep projects like this going. People's circumstances change so sometimes those who have voluntarily given of their time for many years are no longer able to do so. When that occurs there is a need for others to take their place.
It is also necessary to attract people who are "street wise" when it comes to attracting funding.
