I am a little unsure if this is the right person as between 1862 and 1880 we actually had a lifeboat called the EDWARD WASEY and this was a gift from a MISS WASEY of NEWBURY so it is possible that EDWARD was from around that area and not Wales

THis extract from the London Gazette makes a direct link between a Mary Wasey, Spinster, of Chieveley (near Newbury) and the Edward Wasey found in the 1871 and 1881 censuses above.

YOu will get other hits on Edward Wasey if you search the London Gazette http://www.london-gazette.co.uk/search
