You look for Bcc or something like that, depends on which email program you use.

That way you can send to a number of people but they can't see each others email address.

Hi,

Bcc stands for Blind Carbon Copy so it is usually a third address line under the main recipient address line, the middle one being Cc (Carbon copy) which would be seen by the recipient.

If all the addresses to which the e-mail is being sent are placed in the Bcc line then no-one who receives a copy will be able to see the addresses of any of the others.  It is a way of sending e-mails to a groups of people without allowing any of them to pick up the addresses of the rest of the group. Having said this some e-mail systems do not allow e-mails to be sent without at least one address in the main address line (mine is like this) so I put one address on the main address line and all the others in Bcc.

I hope this helps.

In OE, in your new mail, click on the little To: icon.

This brings up a panel with your address book and three options; To, cc and Bcc.

Use the highlite the recipient then click on the bcc.

Thank you Ladies i will try that in case i ever get any nuts emailing me ;D,on my friends email it just gives from and her name then to U.R. My one of my friends has sent me a few that were sent to him and there was a whole list of other email address.I didn't think that was appropriate at the time because although some were private others were from a government  department offices i think :-\.

Hi celia,

it's a very good practise not to forward others e addresses.

Try sending one to yourself using the Bcc option.

hi Celia,

i always use Bcc when forwarding jokes and things to friends.

i always remove the excess e-mail addresses as well. yesterday i had an e-mail from an unknown person, i deleted it.  i don't get that happening very often though.

it is a good way to protect your security on line. you can send batches of pictures like that too.

never put anything in the to line when using this system. your friends have already got your address and unless you remind them to remove it that will compromise your security if they pass it on.
