Hi Donna

Have finally been to the Canterbury Museum library.
Unable to mind anything relating to Angus & Effie arriving at Lyttleton.

Looked up the 1893 Electoral roll for Kaiapoi--

FRASER Angus  labour  Kaiapoi
FRASER Effie     dom duty  Kaiapoi
FRASER Robert  labour   Kaiapoi
FRASER Sarah Ann dom duty  Kaiapoi
FRASER Sarah Ann Matilda  dom duty  Kaiapoi
FRAZER William freehold Kaiapoi  storekeeper, prt sec 330, Kaiapoi

Are any of the bottom 4 in your family tree.

Regards
Wayne

Thanks Wayne,

For the information. All I know of the family is that Angus and his first wife arrived at Lyttleton with 3 children.  Alexander, John and Mary.  Angus later married Effy who looked after the children.

On Angus's death certificate it lists 2 daughter aged 41 & 37, and 3 sons aged 46, 44, 39

Thanks for your help

Cheers Donna

Hi Donna

There was one entry at the museum--

FRASER Angus 34 Pmn, Ann 31, Alex 8, John 5, Mary 11mths, from Inverness "CANTERBURY" s 4 June 74, arr Lyttleton 2 Sept 74

Is this your Angus the age b1846 doesn't  agree with the age at death in 1914 ag76 IE b1838.
Do you know when Ann died?

Regards Wayne

Hi Wayne,

I dont know the death date for Ann but from memory Angus Fraser married Effy (Effie) McPherson in 1881, so her death is between 1874 and 1881.  Angus would have been left with 5 children, so presuming he married Effy to look after the children ??

Effy also sailed out on the same boat with her brother Norman McPherson and the Archibald and Ann (nee McPherson) Campbell and family.

Cheers Donna
