Are you looking for information on James Livingston and Margaret McClean?  I see at least a few baptisms at Lurgan First Presbyterian for Margaret 12-18-1870 DOB , Daniel 9-27-1873  DOB. Edward Wilcocks 5-24-1876 DOB

 James is listed in Silverwood.

I rented a copy of some of Lurgan's 1901 census and am looking for Hill Street, but I may not have ordered all of Hill Street.  It will arrive in perhaps 2 weeks.  I am following Knocknashane Cullys, also.

Let me know more specifically which people you are trying to follow.  There are lots of McCLeans and Livingstons/Levingstons.  The Baptism records have  a gap, but go way back.

Thanks for the Livingstone information.  Mine lived in Ballydugan (Tullylish) which is a couple of miles outside Lurgan.  I have researched back to the marriage of James Levingstone (!) and Rebecca Porter in 1872 in Lurgan and have found their children, including an adopted one.

As for the Cullys - they seem to have originated in Mullaghbrack and moved to Lurgan in the late 1880s.  I can send you all my info if you send me an email address.  Regards, Rosemary

Looking back on my notes, I see we never found our Cullys to link together.  The Ballydougan link sounds far more promising.

Not all of Hill Street was available and it was split in 2 sections in what I saw.

Non Catholic  McCleans were on Avenue Road where many weavers were, but several  census returns in 1901 were not available for that road and there was a McClean on Brown.  I do not have records of Catholic McCleans and there was one servant.   Which McClean would be of interest?

Rosemary,
I probably sent you this already.

1     James Porter      b: Knocknamuckley & Ballynagarrickweaver Knocknamuckley church
.      +Eliza
   2     Isabella Porter   1845 -   b: February 22, 1845 bapt date
   2     Ellen Jane Porter   1848 - 1876   b: February 26, 1848 Bapt date K  K church apparently didn't marry as somewhat matches death age for that name   d: January 28, 1876
   2     Hannah Porter   1851 -   b: December 26, 1851 bapt date  K church
2     Samuel Porter   1858 -   b: May 07, 1858 quite possibly with a Pollock wife, if so he is a postman in Knocknamuckley 1901 census

I have James Porter as the father of Rebecca Porter and that Knocknamuckley was where she lived.   Do you know if this is the James above?  He lived in Knocknamuckley and
I am hoping his son Samuel is the one in my tree.

I thought James Livingston had parents William and Elizabeth Thompson, though this may be from your records.  Have you found much more?  Who was adopted?
