England amateur footballers
« on: Monday 16 March 09 20:06 GMT (UK) »
Hi there,

I am compiling a complete record and who's who of the England Amateur team which competed from 1906 to 1974. I would be interested in anyone who has links to those that played for England, which number nearly 600.

I can also answer some general queries on footballers as I have an extensive listing of league footballers going back to 1889.

Don't know if it'd be useful but I could help you out with a list of England amateur internationals who appeared for Margate FC.  In return you might be able to provide me with some info about players who appeared for both Margate and Brentford - I'm missing some dates of birth etc for a few players.

Hi could you help please?
Interested to know the result of the Scotland v England Amateur International match at Glasgow on 28th April 1928. Jimmy Smy of Hampstead was a 'travelling reserve' for England. Smy turned professional for Tottenham and played for them 1929 - 1931.
Thanks
Ken

I believe a Crook Town ( Northern League ) player, Arnold Coates appeared as an amateur international player in the 1960s.
Gent in Lancs, Yorks, County Durham.
Jewell in Cornwall, Yorks, County Durham.
Richardson in Weardale, Allendale, Derwentside and County Durham.
Howe in County Durham.
