Hi ponjalow,

According to my ancient A-Z, Finneywell Close is off Capponfield Close in the area between the Birmingham New Road and the Black Country Route, neither of which would have been there in the 19th Century.  This is out towards Deepfields from Bilston.

What date were you looking at?  It may be that what I have found is a (relatively - my A-Z is dated 1988) new housing estate with roads named after what was there before the big roads were put through the area.
McDonough, Oliver, McLoughlin, O'Brien, Cuthbert, Keegan, Quirk(e), O'Malley, McGuirk (Ireland)
Dudley, Winchurch, Wolverson, Brookes (Black Country)
Concannon, Moore, Markowski (Markesky), Mottram, Lawton (Black Country)

Hi Delia,

It looks like the enumerator walked from Coseley St to Quarry (one household) then Finny Well and on to Millfields, in 1851.  Does that help to locate it?  I don't have a map that old (everyone laughs that I still keep the old A-Z but it does sometimes find streets that no longer exist).
