Ancestry has released Manhattan, New York, New York, U.S., Voter Registers, 1915-1956, but anyone without a sub for US records but has a sub for UK records will need to subscribe to view them.

Reclaim the Records recently won a case for the New York State death index to be released to cover through 2017.  This will only be records outside of New York City, but they will be asking for New York City too.  Currently, the New York state death index is only available from 1880 through 1972.  This new index also may include more data fields than have ever been released before.
