Help with date please

Hi I was just wondering if anyone could help me date this photo.
I have only just received it today and I know nothing about it apart from the name of the man (Pat O'Brien)

Hope someone can help.

One other thing it was taken at Souvenir Studios Middlesbrough.

According to the Cleveland FHS, the Service Studios were open in 1924/25 and possibly later:

Not sure whether that's a definitive date or just dates that they know the studio was there.

The photo looks like it's been cut out (as a negative) and put onto a blank background, then printed.  Not that that's relevant to the date!  The man has the look of post WW1 about him but it's just a hunch.

Pat O'Brien was an American actor who played a boxer in The Personality Kid, in 1934. This could be him in a fan/promotion shot from that movie.

Thanks to both of you but as far as I'm aware he isn't an actor but a member of the O'Brien family on my tree but thanks for the date it just might tie in with the family.
