Death Cetificate. Winnipeg. Help

I am hoping someone can help me. I live in the north east of England and don't know how the system works in Canada. Please, how do I get a death certificate for someone who died in Winnipeg. Thanks so much.

I can do obits & directory lookups as well, as you'll often glean more from them re: family & occupation...Do you have all the details? Won't get down there for a while because the last 2 times I wasted my trips ...so waiting a while
