They are my wife's family she had the Ship Manifest for 1905 when they went to the states. She didn't even know they were from Cornwall so I have just about got 6 hours on this search.

I am from England but we live in Canada.

I threw this out just in case someone has some information that would save time on the 1851 Thomas Hicks, his father was also Thomas Hicks but I nothing on his mother.

Jones...Llannfwrog, Ruthin, Denbighshire.
Ashton, Heywood, Lancashire, Stockport Cheshire.
Heap.....Heywood, Bolton, Lancashire.

You can check census on FreeCen for Cornwall

http://www.freecen.org.uk/

Thomas wasn't born 1851, By the looks of things, he lost a few years when he married Agnes. From 1881 on, his year of birth is 1851. But before that, the most likely match for him with parents Thomas & Margaret was baptised 16/4/1843 Uny Lelant IGI batch C022561. Uny Lelant births would be registered Penzance, so possible
Thomas Hicks dec qtr 1842 Penzance vol 9 pg 216

Both parents give Ludgvan as their place of birth - also on the IGI. Baptism for Thomas senior in batch C020962 9/4/1815 Thomas Trewheela Hicks son of John & Catherine
Parents' marriage is in batch M020961 for Ludgvan John Hicks to Catherine Trewheela 26/3/1810. Some of the Uny Lelant baptisms show Trewheela as his middle name.

Your Thomas 3 was registered as
Thomas Trewhela Hicks sept qtr 1881 Redruth vol 5c pg 199

certificates needed to confirm, but Trewheela seems to hold things together.

I noticed that change when I came across ' St Hillary Marriages 1870-1879' it shows
8 Oct 1877 Thomas Hicks age 29 m Agness Mary Reed age 20 that gives his birth 1848+/- witnesses John Hicks Elizabeth Ann Reed.

Both parents give Ludgvan as their place of birth - also on the IGI. Baptism for Thomas senior in batch C020962 9/4/1815 Thomas Trewheela Hicks son of John & Catherine

He was my wife's grandfather who had 9 siblings.

I also came across 'Eastern Cemetery Lelant Burials from 1877 ' Thomas Hicks b 7 May 1881 died age 66 1947
