Saying hello to everyone
« on: Tuesday 10 March 09 14:45 GMT (UK) »
I've been MIA for a long time, but wanted to drop in and say hello to everyone.

I've been really busy researching and working on my book about my g-uncle - have a rough draft just about done.  But every time I think I'm getting close, more information surfaces that has to be worked in somewhere/somehow.

I've gained a tremendous amount of family history on all of my lines lately.  After years of searching and trying to figure things out, I stumbled onto my paternal grandmother's information that took me from her all the way back to the founding of Quebec.  It also put me related to about 80% of Quebec at the same time!   ;D

Have also followed the STOCKTON dna testing very closely, since there has been argument over whether two Stockton lines were related or not.  The outcome did not affect my genealogy, but it sure affected a lot of others out there.  (I descend from the Richard Stockton line).

We are now one step closer to identifying our missing TEAGUE ancestor, with some new information that has surfaced just recently.  We have only been able to get back to William Swaim Teague, born 1834/5 in Warren County, Tennessee.  No one is able to identify his father as of yet.

On my ROWE/ROE lineage - same thing, but not much new in leads there, either.  We are back to my 2nd g-grandfather Solomon ROWE, born 1818 in Alabama.  There are hints that say his father was John ROWE, but we have yet to find proof of this.

Anyway, just wanted to drop in and say hi to everyone, and hope to get in here more often!
