Cecelia Doherty b. abt 1866 Donegal
« on: Tuesday 10 March 09 06:08 GMT (UK) »

I would like to find out what happened to Cecelia.

Cecelia was the youngest daughter of Neil Doherty & Sarah McHugh of Legnahoory, Kilmacrenan.

Cecelia's four sisters and one brother immigrated to Australia. Eldest brother Dominic married and raised a family in Donegal.

i am doing some family research which has brought me to the Doherty family.i believe that Cecelia is the granddaughter of John and Cecelia Doherty both born around 1800 and owners of the Central Bar on Main Street Letterkenny.i am attempting to prepare a family tree from john and cecelia to the present.i have already completed the family tree for Cecelia wife of john back to 1580 on her parents side.her maiden name was mcdevitt and she had a brother dominick.Any assistance you can offer me on cecelia, her brothers, sisters and parents would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Laurence

I am not sure....I was given a family tree a few years back and Cecelia's grandparents are Neil O'Dougherty and Sarah McCalvey from Kilmacrenan

Only names were in the tree and no parish records or any proof were given. I don't have any more info.
