1851 for Irvine shows a Robert Kellahin b 1828 Kilmarnock and wife Mary b 1833 Irvine.  They had a daughter Mary Dickie Kellahin (indexed Killahin) aged 8 months b Irvine

Also in the household was Mary Alexander 58 mother in law b Dreghorn Ayrshire and William Alexander 12 brother in law b Irvine

Sorry for the vagueness of my first request!  The Kellahin family I am interested in, appear in the 1861 Census.  There are two Lillias Kellihans listed, is it possible for someone to look up what the relationship is between the two?

Not sure whether these are connected but posting in case.
I've not tried to analyse any of them.
I'm only posting briefest of detail because I'm very lazy!
All have Kilmarnock / Ayrshire connection.  Some Irish births.
Can look again if any mean anything to you.
There are other spelling variations too, eg, Kellahon, Kellochan
This is not an exhaustive list.
1891 may be of particular interest.
Dave

I'll go back in and amend this post - I've mixed up years.

Thanks for taking the time to look up all these names.

The 1891 Census taken at Boyd Street is the exact family I'm interested in.

Hello Welshgirl,

Were you the person who was looking for Robert Neil, and Lillias. I dont know if you got their marriage 24/April/1868. Kilmarnock, Ayr.

Also did you know her name on the marriage was Lilly Kellahin Mahalm.

Regards,
Jonn.

OK

I've misinformed you.  What I have quoted as 1891 was actually 1901 census.
Hope I didn't confuse you.

Hello Welshgirl,

The name Lilly Kellahin Mahalm, i think is a bad version of Mulholland, or Lilly could not read or write.

Her parents i think were Joseph Mulholland, and Ellen Kellahin/Killochan, who were married 31/March/1848.

This Ellen, is the sister of Lilly/Lillias Kellahin, on the 1901. census provided by Daval.

Regards,
Jonn.
