Getting around

Dear everyone,
Is there a place where family historians get together to offer and request lifts? There must be a number of people travelling to archives who might be happy to offer car space to a fellow traveller.
Any ideas?

Hi Jimmymac
Some local family history societys arrange trips for their membership and, for instance, the Deal branch of the Kent FHS welcome non-members to go along too
http://www.kfhs-deal.freeuk.com/meetings/future_meetings.htm
so perhaps it might be worthwhile enquiring with your local FHS.
Or, if you was thinking more localised, I suppose you could ask on one of the boards here if anybody was going to ..................... from ....................... and would be willing to share costs etc..
