Inchgreen Street
« on: Monday 09 March 09 20:32 GMT (UK) »
Hi there

Can anyone help with the location of Inchgreen Street, Greenock? It was demolished in the 60's I think but as my Dad and many of my ancestors lived there I'm interested to find out more about it.

Does anyone have an old map or photos they could share at all? Or even some memories of it? There was a great old photo of Inchgreen just posted on the Ladyburn Buildings topic today, would anyone know where Inchgreen Street is on it?

Thanks, Jenny.

If I remember right, Inchgreen Street started just west of the Drydock entrance and continued until it reached Port Glasgow where it became Ardgowan Street, roughly across from the drydock entrance was a garage, if you look at the photo on the Watt Museum site (see the link I posted on the other post about Ladyburn Buildings) , there was possibility another side street to the south before Inchgreen Street reached Port Glasgow, roughly at the main works entrance to Anaplast,  following that was Boundary Street which was opposite the Sanmina factory in the present estate.
