Hello All
Looking for some information on English Steel which used to be located in Openshaw. Manchester.  I had a number of relatives work at the factory.
Also any information on a company called Hodkinson (or Hogkinson) boile makers would aslo be appreciated. They could have been in the Worsley area.
Thanks
Paul

Hi _all

By 1953 there doesn't seem to be any sign of Hodkinson etc unless they're too far out.

There is an advert though for English Steel with quite a bit of information.  (Kelly's Manchester, Salford and Eccles).

English Steel Corporation Ltd, Tool Steel, small tools,
Castings and Drop Forging Manufacturers &c.

North Street Works, Openshaw, Manchester
Tn East 1371 (PBX), TA "STEEL CORPO";

registered office, River Don Works, Sheffield 9.

Also, on next line:

English Steel Corporation Ltd. Steel mnfrs.
7 Chatham St 1, Central 6775

I don't know what it all means, but I hope it helps.  Let me know if I can help any more.

Best wishes
