Would like some help on the location of Gasstown, Dumfries. Trying to trace any relatives of  my Great Grandmother Sarah Turner b1845c Gasstown. On 1851 census with Grandparents. Her parents were John Turner & Mary McNoe.

gasstown is just on the edge of dumfries 1851 census william mcnoe 61 tailor born new abbey janet mcnoe wife 60 born burntisland fife sarah turner 3 grand daughter john mcnoe grandson 3 thomas grandson 11 csc

19 listings for mcnoes new abbey before 1854 more than 30 for kirkcudbrightshire  births parents wiliam mcnoe and janet maxwell william 06 03 1792 joseph 03 03 1798 john 31 08 1795     in the 1841 census gasstown john mcnoe ag lab 40 agnes 40 william 15 jannet 20 irving 9       there are a lot of irving mcnoes in the new abbey lot    i dont know if you have been here new abbey is about 10 miles from gasstown csc

do you know if sarah was a domestic servant   or her husbands name  or if there are any brothers or sisters she may have been with grandparents if parents dead or mum having another baby csc

Only thing I know about Sarah Turner is she was born 1847c Dumfries & married James Bryson  b1846  Gretna. They married 4 Dec. 1868 Dumfries.
