Hi Jana
I took a chance and went into the Harrogate Registry Office, they phoned back the next day to say they had found the marriage details, one advantage of living down the road is that I could collect the certificiate in person, I wasn't sure if they would be able to find it with only a GRO to work on but they did. I'm not completely clued up as to when and where different details became available on certificates, I did notice that only the area of Kirkbymoorside was mentioned not a birthplace or actual district where they were living, also with fathers, when did it become the norm to put on if deceased? I was right about John Body's father being William Body (or William Boddy as I had him down as) but by my reckoning William died in 1861/2 but there is no mention of him being deceased.
The good thing is now I know when and where they were married and hopefully if Joseph isn't fictitious to cover an illegitimate child then at least Olivia has some family to research on.
