Hi Nick

No I think his grave is long gone or completely illegible.  When I went there last year I only found those that I emailed to you.  I had a very thorough look.  It could possibly have fallen down and been buried as many have been at Uffington.

I will keep it in mind though and hopefully one day you will have an answer.

Regards

Good morning,

You are probably quite right, unfortunately ! Thanks anyway for your support and bearing it in mind. I haven't given up finding the answer to this one and am convinced that one day something will turn up.

The earliest official trace or record I have of Ambrose so far is his presence as a witness to a marriage in Longcot in January 1826, when he must have been about 20 or 21.

Thankyou for your help so far; it's much appreciated.

Nick
