Not sure if you have these but may give some clues as to places and dates.  They may or may not be your persons, and they don't add much more information.

NLA's digitised newspapers have the following:

South Australian Advocate October 1858
Insolvency of Charles Thomas and Mauris Thomas, the younger, of Callington, millers, trading as C & M Thomas.

SMH Sept 1874
'Mr Mauris THOMAS writing from the mine of Southern Cobar Copper Company....'

Brisbane Courier 16 Nov 1874
Forfeiture of lands. The following lands have been declared forfeited:....2560 acres acres leased by Mauris Thomas
and 250 acres by William in the district of Clermont

The Argus (Melbourne) May 1857
Applications for licencing: Thomas, Mauris, City Hotel, Madeline St

SMH 2 January 1890
Death Notice: THOMAS, at his residence Cudal, Mauris Thomas aged 59 years.  (Could just be 39 but 59 looks more like it)  I guess this is the younger one that you already have.

The Argus 1859
Patent application for washing powder Mr Mauris THOMS of Collingwood.

The Argus 1868 and other dates
Mauris Thomas, manager Burwood Wharf Newcastle

There may be more................... I searched using Mauris+thomas

Thanks Judith.  :D
That's all new stuff.
I don't think I've done an NLA Papers search for any THOMAS's. I've done the Adelaide papers but didn't think to do national.  :-\

Thanks Dee.
I'll slot him in somewhere.
He doesn't fit with any of mine. BUT, when you get back to Cornwell parish records, there are quite a few Maurice/Mauris THOMAS's. The must all connect up if you go back far enough. I just haven't got back that far yet.  ;D
They actually go back to Wales, and I guess you then get into the patronymics  ::) I'm not ready for that again yet.
The one consistant thing though is that they're basically miners. Altho' one line out of Cornwell were medical people. I think a couple of the ones who came to Australia were in the medical line as well.

Barbatalice has a whole lot more info than me, I think.
One day we might get a lot more of it on my Yuku site. Then all the 'cousins' can have a go at it.

Hi I was just reading your look ups about Mauris Thomas Jr When Mauris Jr sold  his property MORIALTA (Aboriginal for Waterfall) to  Mr William John Carrol, grazier of Orange in 1885 for $1050. Mauris took the family to Cudal where he owned a General store.
He died there  on the 23 Dec 1889 at the age of 58 years ,his occupation was recorded as storekeeper .a mundane occupation after what he and his little family had been through
Susannah's epitaph on the headstone was apt

               Light after darkness,gain after loss
Strength after weakness, crown after cross
                  Sweet after bitter,hope after fears
Home after wandering, praise after tears

Mauris had built five smelting works, a truly great pioneering effort in establishing copper mining as a productive Australian i industry

It is apt.
Susannah's father died the day the family arrived in Adelaide from England.
He had been a very well respected builder in England but suffered losses when building work dropped off. He had to beg from his creditors just to get enough money to migrate.

Maurice's death wasn't actually registered 'til Jan 1890, in Molong. About 20 miles or so north east of Cudal.
