Place name - Banaker
« on: Wednesday 04 March 09 12:20 GMT (UK) »
I have a Irish family who ended up in Leeds via Manchester.

I am having trouble locating place of birth for Margaret Garraghan... on the 1871 census she is listed as being born Ireland, county Sligo (about 1833), then on the 1881 as what I think says Banaker? If I'm reading it correctly the closest I can find on a map is Ballincar near Sligo (thinking of accents etc it seems close).

Any ideas? I'm attaching an image of the census entry just in case I'm not reading it correctly
