It appears that my ancestor also lived at that farm  !!

I just located a 1794 document that stated that my gr-gr-gr-gr-grandfather John Parry was from "Hafodygog, Llanfairtalhaiain, but now of Moelfre, Llangwm."

I have visited Wales and seen the farm at Moelfre fawr, still owned by family members.  But I have no idea where is Hafod-y-gog.

Hi,
Hafod y gog is a farm,i've attached a link to show were it is on the map but if it doesn't work just go to streetmap.co.uk and put in the post code LL22 8RS and zoom in a bit.I think the translation of hafod y gog into english means something like summer pasture of the cuckoo

Thank you for pointing out the location on Hafod y gog.  I was confused, as to the two locations previously mentioned: Llanfair Talhaearn and Llangernyw.
I now see that Hafod y gog is situated, where someone in 1794 could say he was from  Llanfair Talhaearn, and yet someone who lived on the farm could be buried in Llangernyw.

Thanks to all who helped me understand.

born in California USA, but Welsh ancestry
