Hi everyone, thanks for all your help so far...

The Leonards christened at the Calvinist tabernacle are in my family tree and almost the entire family are listed in the Gloucestershire council conformist and Gaol register as follows:

1836 leonard eli Child wotton under edge Non-conformist
1871 leonard elizabeth Mother wotton under edge Non-conformist
1867 leonard elizabeth Mother wotton under edge Non-conformist
1847 leonard geo. Father wotton under edge Non-conformist
1838 leonard hannah Child wotton under edge Non-conformist
1867 leonard thomas Father wotton under edge Non-conformist
1847 leonard ruth Child wotton under edge Non-conformist
1867 leonard aaron U Wotton-under-Ed weaver Gaol

These people are all part of the same family... does non-conformist mean Calvinist? Why would Gloucestershire council need to keep a record of them being non-conformist? Help! what does this all mean??? ???

Dawn, yes actually I do have Flooks in my family tree! But mine are from Bristol and from a different branch of my tree to the Leonards...

In case the Flooks & Leonards wandered nearer to Bristol there are South Gloucestershire burials on www.B&AFHS.org
