Hi Genie!  I just found this site and really don't know what I'm doing.  My maternal grandm. was Rosa Amy Teague, b. 6/16/1877 in Berry Hill, Gl.  8th child of 10 of William Teague, d. 7/31/1898, aged 63 yrs, 6 mo. 5 days and Mary Ann Tye b. 9/19/1838 at Cheltenham, Engl. (I have obits saved by a greataunt.)  Rosa  came to USA at age 5 with her family and settled in W. Frankfort, Ill. The men were coal miners. She m. Lloyd Windsor Plummer, had 2 dau. Priscilla Teague m. Arthur Peterson (my parents) and Jane, raised in Bloomington, Ill. Rosa died in Wilmette, Ill. at 80. (near Chicago--The area I grew up in) Your info. was very interesting--telling of William's Father, Thomas, (and wife Amy Wiintle) and his father Edward.  I'm excited to learn more. My husband and I just retired and are going to visit the Forest of Dean July 19-23 next month, before going on to Norway for a month, where both his parents came from.  We need advice--would love to meet "kissin' cousins" and get advice on how, where to research, what to experience, etc.  Don't know where we're staying yet--advice?  I don't even know how to sign this message or how to send it. (Help!!) Amy
I am sorry but my email is not working

Being far away in Australia, little details can sometimes be hard to nail down.

I have located Shortstanding (or is it Short standing, as I have seen both on www).  Is it in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire or Monmouthshire ?

I realise the BMD free Birth Index shows births in MONMOUTH REGISTRATION DISTRICT and realise that parishes from all e counties can be shown in this district.  In fact Coleford is shown as being Gloucestershire and I thought Shortstanding was part of the parish of Coleford ?

However I have now discovered Christ church C of E and note that it is close to Shortstandings.

Can anybody give me the correct County name into which Shortstanding fits ?

William T
