All I can say is: GOOD, GOOD, GOOD! What a lot of hard work. Thanks!

A quick request: would you have information on George Peters, born Lewes 1822, and any of his four wives/Partners, Ann Steer, Elizabeth Smith, Elizabeth Read, Catherine "Kate" Tapp?

I thought I'd better add the following: any help with this would be saving my sanity. I am beginning to suspect that there were two George Peters born Lewes 1822. One of them should be my GGGrandfather. I'm praying I haven't got them mixed up, coz then the work I've done so far is beginning to look pretty suspect.
Thanks!.

Hi Beccak

Found these baptisms in Sub Castro

1792   Feb   13   Stanford   Federick   m      Edward   Sally Cooper
1800   Aug   21   Stanford   William   m      Charles   Mary
1802   Nov   30   Stanford   Sarah   f      Charles   Mary

but unfortunately there are no STANFORD burials.

Looked for a marriage in Sub Castro, and found this

Lewes St. John sub Castro, East Sussex,  Date: 10 Feb 1812:
Groom: Frederick STANFORD
Bride: Eleanor MARKWICK,
Both of this parish and were married by Banns.
Witnessed by Mary MARKWICK; Richd. BURFIELD

Does the above make sense to you?

As you can see your Benjamin lived at 13 Sun Street at the time of his death and his wife Elizabeth is recorded as living at 3 Spring Gardens when she expired in 1914. (not far from the church or each other)
It looks as though they have a monument on their graves No 186 - will post it when I locate it in my database
William, fatherof Benjamin is also listed in 1910 - but no headstone

Hi Crozier

A quick request: would you have information on George Peters, born Lewes 1822, and any of his four wives/Partners, Ann Steer, Elizabeth Smith, Elizabeth Read, Catherine "Kate" Tapp?

Have had a look through my databases, but at the moment I am not coming up with anything substanial.
Can you give me any further information as to where in Lewes they could possibly be located
