Chris: May I ask if you could do a check for me in the Marriage Registers of St. John sub Castro please?

I have a record (given me by a relative) that on 5th November 1820 PHILIP PHILLIPS married EVE ANN LEWER at St. John sub Castro.

Would it be possible for you to confirm the bride's surname as LEWER...or could it have been LOWER?

This couple are my 3xgreat grandparents and I am having trouble tracing LEWERS in Lewes but can find several LOWERS, some with fairly unusual first names which Philip and Eve Ann used for their children. This makes me wonder if her surname has been misread - or whether Lewer and Lower were interchangeable at the time!
