Good Morning,

It seems w're talking about 2 different men:
- the Wesleyan Lay preacher in Llanbadrig on the 1901 census, married to a Jane, whow was born ca. 1840 and who in my opinion was in Durham in 1881
- a nearly 20 years younger Edward, son of Hugh and Ruth

1861
RG9/4280 37 13
Rhydallt, Denbighshire

Hugh Bowen, head, 49, Labourer, b. Denbigh Ruabon
Ruth, wife, 35, b. Llanidan?
Sarah, dau, 6, b. Ruabon
Edward, son, 3, b. do.
Lewis, son, 5 mo, b. do.

1871
RG10/5652 39 4
Ruabon, Denbighshire

Ruth Bowen, head, 46, no occupation, b. Ruabon
Edward, son, 11, scholar, b. do.
Louis, son, 9, scholar, b. do.
Allen, son, 7, scholar, b. do.
Eliza, dau, 4, scholar, b. do.

Which one are you interested in then?  :)

Hi and Welcome from me too  :)

If the family that Tati has found on the 1861 is yours, there is a possible marriage showing on the North Wales BMD in St John's Church, Rhosymedre, Ruabon in 1848.  A Ruth Edwards is on thesame page.

The full GRO reference is

March Quarter, 1848, Wrexham, vol 27 page 381

Note that the 1841 census is missing for this area.

I've checked the parish records for Ruabon but there are no baptisms are showing for Hugh circa 1812.

Regards
