Montgomery Street sounded familiar, my ancestors by the name of Vallance are listed on the 1891 census at 35 Montgomery Street Tarbolton

The MI in Tarbolton churchyard shows that Andrew died in London:-

(Front) In mem of John Thomson d 25 mar 1862 aged 82; Janet Ronald his wife d 11 Feb 1862 aged 73; also their children jean d 1829 aged 7; margaret d 1831 aged 19; Ninnian d 1832 aged 22; Alex Thomson surgeon d in Bombay 1830 aged 26; Ann White his wife d 1826 aged 22; Ann their dau d 1844 aged 18; (right hand side) John Thomson in mem of his wife Margaret Steel d 19.Jan 1868 aged 54; Ninnian his son d 15 Apr 1845 aged 6m; above John Thomson d 29 Jul 1885 aged 78; also of John Thomson son of above John Thomson d 27 Jun 1909 aged 71:
(left hand side) Sac to mem of Andrew Reid d in London Aor 1835; also his wife Elizabeth thomson d 26 Nov 1867 aged 64; also their son John d inf: also their gdau Elizabeth Reid d Nov 1865 aged 20m.
Ayrshire:- Wilson, Donald, Pearson, Milligan, Wallace
Surrey:- Langford, Mullard, O'Neill

There is a grave in Tarbolton cemetery with this inscription -
sacred to the memory of Andrew Reid d in London April 1835; also his wife Elizabeth Thomson d 26 Nov 1867 aged 64; also their son John d infant, also their gdau Elizabeth Reid d nov 1865 aged 20 months.

ps there are lots of other Thomsons in the grave too (bit long to transcribe all of it).
