Myers
« on: Monday 23 February 09 13:49 GMT (UK) »
I have a marriage for  John Myers to a Sarah Osband, both of Oakham, Rutland. 23rd Dec, 1782 and his second marriage to Mary Walker of Oakham, Rutland, 13th Nov, 1788. Could anyone do a lookup to see if I can get the baptism of John and the names of his parents. Any help appreciated.

Hi - I had a look at the Oakham transcripts and I can see a probable buriel for John

23   Sep   1834   John   MYERS   aged 80   Rutland   Oakham, All Saints

giving a birth year around 1754,  but there are no Myers entries in Oakham beofre the baptism of John & Sarahs son John in 1783.  There are a couple Mears ones though,  the closest being

4th FEB   1749/50   JOHN   MEARS   S/O JOHN/HANNAH      OAKHAM
however there is also this burial

13th MAY   1759   JOHN   MEARS   SON of ANN WIDOW   OAKHAM

I can't see a burial for Johns first wife Sarah (nee Osband) at all

there is this possible for Mary his second wife - she would be a bit older than him though

15th Jan   1824   Mary   MYERS   88   Rutland Oakham, All Saints
