According to family legend, my father's first cousin once removed was a footballer who played for either Chelsea or Fulham football clubs in the early 1930s and had died soon after a match. I'd searched their lists of old players but had no luck finding him.
I was browsing the useful links board yesterday evening and found one for old newspapers (
http://newspapers.nl.sg/Default.aspx) and put the family surname in on the off chance there might be something about any of my relatives. In a Singapore newspaper was a report of Ernest Rassell's death and giving the name of his team - Kingstonian, an amateur team! Who would have thought I'd find the answer halfway round the world

I found out that his brother Frederick also played for Kingstonian, all from the same link.

Just one example of how Rootschat has helped me, it's great here
